ShinDig ("we," "us," or "our") is a live social video platform operated by Andre Martin, based in Florida, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use shindig.chat, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that information.
By creating an account or using ShinDig, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ShinDig.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: display name, email address, password, date of birth, and gender
- Profile information: bio, profile photo, gallery photos, favorite room, city
- Dating profile information (if you enable Dating Mode): dating bio, looking for, interests, relationship status, prompts and answers, preferred age range
- Messages you send to other users through ShinDig
- Reports you file about other users
- Any other information you choose to share on your profile or in rooms
Information Collected Automatically
- Your IP address and general device information when you access ShinDig
- Room activity: which rooms you join and when, whether your camera and microphone are active
- Last seen timestamps and online status
- Firebase automatically collects certain usage and crash data to help us identify technical problems
Payment Information
ShinDig uses Stripe to process payments for VIP membership. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details — these are handled entirely by Stripe. We receive a transaction confirmation and your membership status only. Stripe's privacy practices are described in Stripe's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To operate ShinDig's live video rooms, messaging, and social features
- To power the Discover grid and matching features when you have Dating Mode enabled
- To process your VIP membership and manage your subscription
- To enforce our community rules, investigate reports, and take action against violations
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to law enforcement requests, and protect the safety of our users
- To communicate with you about your account, including safety notices and policy updates
- To improve ShinDig's features and fix technical problems
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information to serve you advertising from third-party advertisers.
3. Information Visible to Other Users
ShinDig is a social platform. Depending on your settings, the following may be visible to other users:
- Your display name, profile photo, and bio are visible to all users
- Your online status and current room may be visible (you can turn these off in Privacy Settings)
- Your dating profile fields (bio, looking for, interests, prompts) are visible to users browsing Discover and your profile, when Dating Mode is on
- Your city may be shown in Discover (you can turn this off in Privacy Settings)
- Your VIP status may be visible (you can turn this off in Privacy Settings)
Your email address, date of birth, IP address, payment information, and report history are never visible to other users.
4. Information Shared with Third Parties
We share your information with third parties only as follows:
- Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication, database storage, and file storage. Your account data is stored in Firebase. Google's privacy practices apply to data processed by Firebase.
- Stripe: Payment processing for VIP membership. Stripe receives the information necessary to process your payment.
- Daily.co: Live video infrastructure for our rooms and private cam sessions. Daily.co processes video and audio streams in real time but does not retain recordings of your sessions.
- Law enforcement: We may disclose information when required by valid legal process or in genuine emergencies involving threats to safety. See our Law Enforcement Guidelines for details.
- NCMEC: We are required by law to report apparent child sexual exploitation material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your profile, photos, and messages within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain data by law or for legitimate safety purposes (for example, records related to abuse reports or law enforcement holds).
6. Children's Privacy
ShinDig is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data. If you believe a minor has created an account on ShinDig, please contact us at shindigsupport@gmail.com.
7. Your Privacy Controls
You have control over much of the information on your profile:
- Edit or delete your display name, bio, and profile photos at any time from your profile page
- Turn Dating Mode on or off at any time — turning it off hides your dating profile from Discover
- Use Privacy Settings (within Dating Mode settings) to control visibility of your online status, current room, city, age, and VIP badge
- Block users to prevent them from interacting with you
- Delete your account by contacting us at shindigsupport@gmail.com
8. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. 9. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase's built-in security rules, and server-side enforcement of access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. Please use a strong, unique password for your ShinDig account.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of ShinDig after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
